LIANNE ANKNER, a founding partner at Ankner & Levy, has exclusively focused her legal career on representing health care clients, primarily advising them on transactional, regulatory and patient care issues. Lianne’s clients include physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, clinics, hospitals, and individual physicians, as well as a medical malpractice insurance company.
In her practice, Lianne structures and negotiates joint venture arrangements, acquisitions, mergers, affiliations and disaffiliations. She also advises clients on a number of regulatory matters, including compliance with HIPAA and state privacy laws, anti-kickback, false claims and Stark issues, and licensing and accreditation matters. Lianne has a great deal of experience assisting clients with patient care, patient and peer review confidentiality, medical staff and regulatory reporting matters.
Lianne was named a “Super Lawyer” in Boston magazine in 2007, 2008 and 2009. She is a member of the Massachusetts bar, the Boston Bar Association (Health Section) and the American Health Lawyers Association.
Lianne clerked for the Honorable Francis P. O'Connor of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court for the term 1995-1996. She earned her law degree, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School (1995), and her bachelor’s degree from McGill University (1990). Prior to forming Ankner & Levy, she was a partner in the Health Law Department of McDermott Will & Emery in Boston.
